Cyberdoll Vidal

Continuing on from a style of post I first picked up for "Trip" all those many months ago, I'd like to introduce the newly-defined Cyberdoll Vidal.

This doll, more than any other in the collection, is bound by unfortunate circumstance. Like her siblings, she was born to a now-deceased, human male creator. Hers was a research and development scientist at Gemini Cybernetics, one day caught skimming spare and broken parts from the company's 'synth' (synthetic beings) production lines. He was collecting spare parts in order to build his nameless doll - an indulgent creation kept safe at his home. When the authorities were alerted to the mech-smith's activities he was arrested, despite panicked excuses that he had made her for them.

In a world where neko hybrids are shunned as incomplete and the human population have their jobs stolen by Gemini's fleets of synth workers, Vidal's creator had tried to justify his creation by convincing them that she could work for mediation in Insilico City. His pleas fell on deaf ears, and the creator was soon disposed of.

The doll escaped, thanks to contingency plans hard-coded into her by her creator. He had foreseen his own arrest as a threat, and his posthumous gift to his much-loved creation was the means to escape and disguise herself amongst the city-dwellers. She morphed her body into a new form, tinted her skin and hair and slipped out into the populace, activating personality emulation software in order to blend in. As the excitement calmed, the doll began to explore the world around her, looking out for stories from her kindred synths, free of slavery. It was then that she came to hear of the Vidal sisterhood of dolls, and she adopted the name and shared experiences as her own.

Vidal of Insilico remains one step away from exile at all times, but has successfully escaped most danger by using hyperactive chrysalis techniques to her advantage. Her original design, to provide non-sexual companionship and pleasure, remains her dominant motivation. She remains only partially self-aware, but is quickly learning that this new world has a lot to teach her if she is to survive.
